What is BETA?
The Beta community is dedicated to high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills, and encouraging service to others. We hold monthly meetings from October to May where we focus on service projects that enhance our community. Examples of service projects that have been done include collecting used eyeglasses, collecting cleaning and laundry products for Pitt County Schools Social Workers, raising money for our Hope Beta Scholarships which are given to a graduating high school senior who was an active member of Hope Beta, and becoming Santa's Elves to one of our exceptional education classes. We hold elections for officers to promote leadership and these officers induct our new students in the spring.
How can my child participate in the BETA Club at Hope?
Sixth through eighth grade students are eligible to join the Hope Middle School's National Junior Beta Club. Candidates must have a cumulative average of 94.5 or higher for the first semester to be invited to join the club. This average is determined by averaging all core and encore classes from the first two nine weeks. Students are invited to an induction ceremony during the 2nd semester of the school year. As soon as the students accept their invitation, they may join our monthly meetings. Being a Beta means being a part of a community of leaders who are positively impacting the world.
